   With the largest LNG vehicle
refuelling network in the UK and a wealth of experience in natural gas vehicle
fuel solutions, Chive Fuels are well placed to partner fleet operators in the
transition from expensive and less clean traditional fuels to economical NGV's.
Pioneers such as London Waste Ltd, The Hardstaff Group Ltd and Reading
Borough Council have demonstrated that natural gas as a vehicle fuel is not a
concept but a commercial reality.
LondonWaste have taken steps to help
play a part in reducing transport emissions in the capital. According to
LondonWaste's Operations Manager Julian Appleby, the ultimate winner is the
environment:
"Natural gas is the most practical and cost-effective
way to reduce road transport emissions. Natural gas powered vehicles have
surpassed all other competitors in delivering superior emissions performance"
Julian Appleby Operations Manager, LondonWaste
The use
of natural gas by LondonWaste will help to reduce emissions of particulates and
sulphur dioxide which are the two pollutants of most concern in the Mayor of
London's Air Quality Strategy.
Champion of environmentally friendly
fuel solutions, Allan Jones MBE illustrates below his opinion of the only
viable way forward to combat the environmental pressures facing the road
transport sector.
"There is a simple strategy available to all ...
who want to reduce their emissions levels and improve the condition of the
local environment, use LNG for long haul vehicles and CNG for smaller
vehicles" Allan Jones MBE, I.Eng, FIIE
