The natural alternative to diesel for commercial vehicles

There is growing support for Natural Gas Vehicles, with their global useage being seen as one of the major pathways to the "hydrogen economy". World-wide there are now over 3.8 million NGVs on the road.

Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) offers HGV operators the cleanest and most economical propulsion fuel currently available.

Pioneers such as London Waste and The Hardstaff Group are operating LNG Dual Fuels in their existing fleets and demonstrating that LNG as a vehicle fuel is not just a concept but a commercial reality.

Why should you make the switch to LNG?

Fuel Savings - LNG offers fuel savings of up to 30% less than diesel.

Fuel Duty Differential - Duty differential fixed on a rolling three year basis.

VED Reduction - Vehicle Excise Duty reduction for Natural Gas Vehicles.

Exemption from Congestion Charging - Recognised for their low emissions, natural gas vehicles are exempt from paying congestion charges.

Noise Reduction - NGV's make approximately half the noise of ordinary diesel engined vehicles. This means that for some companies, overnight deliveries to urban centres and other noise sensitive locations can be implemented.

Corporate Social Responsibility - Enhance your firms environmental image.

Heavy Goods Vehicles powered by Natural Gas

The benefits shown above can be realised for both Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG).

Neither the engine nor the exhaust can tell the difference between LNG and CNG.

However, LNG contains more energy and has better range than Compressed Natural Gas. Thus for large vehicles, LNG becomes attractive because of reduced on-board weight and space requirements.

LNG can be packaged on both 6x2 and 4x2 chassis, whilst CNG is restricted to operating on 4x2s. Additionally, the large vehicle system costs for LNG are far less than CNG.
